Repair Terms and Conditions

This Repair Terms and Conditions contains information about repair services provided by North East Tech Wizard (ABN 74 740 279 391).
By having a repair service conducted by North East Tech Wizard, you agree to these Repair Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions then unfortunately we are not able
to provide our services to you.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions are applicable to all repairs.
1. Privacy Policy
The confidentiality and privacy of your information is outlined in our Privacy Policy.
2. Device Status
2.1 North East Tech Wizard will not be responsible if any device submitted for repair has been physically damaged (such as scratches) or has liquid ingress prior to handling.
2.2 North East Tech Wizard will only be responsible for the requested repair work.
3. Liquid Damage
3.1 Devices which are faulty due to liquid ingress are only warrantied for 30 days on the specific component fixed/replaced or work done (i.e.; no warranty for the failure of any additional components at a later stage).
3.2 Furthermore, due to possible progressive corrosion, North East Tech Wizard accepts no responsibility for any further faults which occur during the time between the quotation and the commencement of repairs.
3.3 Please note that there is NO WARRANTY on a device that shows liquid ingress since the previous repair.
4. Limited Liability
4.1 The client must accept there are risks associated with the repair or any IT service. Risks could result in damage to your property. It could also mean the loss or corruption of data. Our clients must accept that North East Tech Wizard is not liable for such damage or loss.
4.2 In the event of unintentional damage to components, peripherals, the screen or any other equipment relating to a client’s device we will whenever possible replace the damaged component/equipment. However it may be replaced by a second hand part. This depends upon the cost of the replacement part and/or equipment and the value of your property.
4.3 North East Tech Wizard strongly encourage clients to perform a full backup of data and system prior to any repair or service being provided by us.
5. No Warranty
5.1 North East Tech Wizard does not provide any warranty for the installation of any spare parts supplied by the client.
5.2 Labour charges will apply for the un-installation of spare parts where the spare part installed was not supplied by North East Tech Wizard.
5.3 Labour charges may also apply for any cancellation or reversals of repairs, after confirmation to proceed with repairs has been given.
6. Devices Pick-up
6.1 North East Tech Wizard will notify client to pick up the device by SMS, Facebook message, email or by phone call once repair completed or cancelled by the client.
6.2 The client should pick up the device within 30 days from the first notifications sent through SMS, email or phone call.
6.3 North East Tech Wizard will not be responsible for loss or damage to any phone that has not been picked up within 30 days from the first notification of completion of repairs.
6.4 The client may pick up the device from the agreed location. If the client would prefer delivery to an alternate location, this must be agreed in advance and a delivery fee may apply.
7. Right Reserved on Unpaid / Uncollected Products / Payment
7.1 North East Tech Wizard reserves the right to dispose of products and/or sell the
device 30 days after notification of completion of repairs if the service fee is unpaid and/or if the products are not collected in this time.
7.2 Payment is due in full upon completion of the agreed repair services. Payment is required prior to the release of the client’s property unless otherwise agreed.
MOBILE PHONE REPAIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms are specific to mobile phones repairs only.
8. Waterproof Function
For phones with a waterproof function, any “open phone for check / for quote” or “phone repair” will disable the waterproof function.
9. Settings and Data
9.1 It is very important for the client to save your data to your personal computer / sim card. Please be aware that during the process of assessment, diagnosis and repair, user software settings and data may be lost, so it is best saved off your phone. Please assume that all data will be lost when providing your product to us.
9.2 North East Tech Wizard accepts no responsibility for such losses.
10. Screen Replacements for iPhones
For later model iPhones, a screen replacement may mean that Face ID no longer works as your phone needs to be running at least IOS 15.2 for Face ID to work after a screen replacement. If you are aware your phone was not on at least IOS 15.2 (or you are not sure) you need to consider if you are happy to use your phone without this facility.
11. Manufacture Warranty
The phone’s manufacture warranty will be voided once the phone has been opened or repaired by North East Tech Wizard.
12. Warranty
12.1 North East Tech Wizard repair warranty applies where the exact same fault occurs or the replaced component fails within 2 months of repair.
12.2 A 2-month warranty on parts & labour will apply to all repairs completed.
12.3 A 30-day warranty applies to repair of liquid damaged phones.
13. The Warranty is Void
Upon return of the phone, if the North East Tech Wizard repair is tampered with in any way whatsoever, or if any other party attempts repairs on the phone, or if the phone has been physically or liquid damaged, the warranty is void.
COMPUTER/LAPTOP REPAIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms are specific to computers/laptops repairs only.
14. Malware Removal
It is very difficult to provide a warranty for this type of service as whilst a machine may leave our office clean of all malware, it may later become infected either with the same malware or a new type of malware. Should this occur we reserve the right to determine whether the malware infection occurred after a successful malware removal service or our malware removal services was not 100% successful. If we determine the error was on our part we will undertake a second malware removal service at no additional cost.
15. Warranty
15.1 Any computer components purchased and installed on a client’s behalf are
covered by the manufacturers or sellers warranty. They are not covered by a warranty
with North East Tech Wizard.
15.2 In most cases if a component fails under warranty and it is a repair job that we have previously undertaken, North East Tech Wizard will reinstall the part for no additional charge.
15.3 We provide a 3 month warranty on our labour for general repairs and IT services. We provide a 6 month warranty on our labour for any new computer builds that we do for clients.
15.4 Any changes or modifications made by the client during the warranty period that result in errors or damage to the services provided by North East Tech Wizard will void the warranty.
16. Data Backup
16.1 North East Tech Wizard will only backup your data if the service specifically requires this or the client requests this service. In undertaking a backup we will endeavour to copy all files and data possible. We will not be liable for failure to copy
data that is located in an obscure location. It is the responsibility of the Client to inform us should files and folders be located in an unusual location on the hard drive.
16. 2 North East Tech Wizard only backup user files and folders. The backup does not include programs beyond the standard operation system. Any additional programs will need to be re-installed by the client. We can install your other programs for an additional charge.
17. Screens
North East Tech Wizard accepts no liability for screen damage caused by a client after replacement and this is not covered under any warranty. Any screen repair faults need to be reported within a maximum of seven days of service.
